The Best Garden Venue in Perth

Our venue is one of the best private garden wedding venues in Perth.  It is perfect for all types of events – apart from just weddings.  We regularly host birthdays, engagements, corporate social events and other community-based fundraising events.

Generally, the same things that make a wedding reception successful will also make other events successful.  It all comes down to good planning.

Like any good business, we pride ourselves on our expertise when it comes to event planning and preparations.  Our staff will work tirelessly to ensure you have the best event possible.  To ensure that the quality of catering and beverages are as we expect, we will provide all catering and beverages. We do not allow self-catering or off-site caterers.

Regardless of what type of event you book, your guests will receive the same level of high-quality service – be it a wedding, birthday, engagement or corporate/social club event – there is no difference to our service level, nor our charges (ie, a wedding does not cost “extra” just because it is a wedding).

In addition, our Japanese gardens provide a beautiful and peaceful setting for any wedding ceremony or as a breakout area for seminars.

A booking deposit fee will be required to confirm any booking.

Event Duration

Generally, our event duration’s are as follows:

  • Breakfast events are a maximum of 3 hours with general start times of 08:00, 08:30, 09:00 or 09:30
  • Morning/Afternoon Teas are a maximum of 3 hours with either a 09:00 start or 14:00 start with catering served at 10:00 and 15:00 respectively
  • Lunch events are a maximum of 4 hours with general start times of 11:30, 12:00 or 12:30
  • Dinner events are 5 hours in length with general start times of 17:30, 18:00, 18:30 or 19:00
  • Cocktail and Platter catered events are a maximum of 4 hours

No event on the same day will have the same start time – so first in, best dressed. Generally, the catering will start 25-30 minutes after the room is opened.

Our General Viewing Times

Our general viewing times for the centre are:

  • Monday – Friday: 09:00 to 16:00
  • Saturday: 09:00 to 11:30
  • All other times are available by appointment only

Wisteria Room

This fine space comes with a carpeted floor and parquetry dance floor area. It also has direct access to Swagman’s Court which overlooks the gardens.

It also includes a stage for the head table / bridal table at no extra charge.

Our round guest tables will seat a maximum of 10 guests each.

For a lunch or dinner event, this room will have a minimum booking size of 50 adult guests. Generally, depending upon the type of event, the maximum will be 150 guests, plus a head table with a maximum of 12 people.

For a Cocktail or Finger Food event, the minimum booking size will be 80 guests with a maximum of 220 guests.

Willow Room

The Willow Room has a parquetry floor and is the same size as our Wisteria Room.

Our round guest tables will seat a maximum of 10 guests each.

For a lunch or dinner event, this room will have a minimum booking size of 50 adult guests. Generally, depending upon the type of event, the maximum will be 150 guests, plus a head table with a maximum of 12 people.

Due to the entire floor area being parquetry, we have the ability for the smaller bookings (50-70 guests) to arrange the guest tables in such as way that we can spread everyone out so that it does not look like you are losing everyone in such a large room. We do not have the same ability in the Wisteria Room.

For a Cocktail or Finger Food event, the minimum booking size will be 80 guests with a maximum of 220 guests.

Brodie Room

Our smallest room which is located upstairs. There is no disabled access to this room (no lift). Our round guest tables will seat a maximum of 8 guests each. For a lunch or dinner event, this room will have a minimum booking size of 30 adult guests. Generally, depending upon the type of event, the maximum will be 56 guests, plus a head table with a maximum of 8 people. For a Cocktail or Finger Food event, the minimum booking size will be 30 guests with a maximum of 80 guests.

Venue for Outdoor Garden Weddings & Photos

For outdoor garden weddings, we provide the following in our grounds:

  • 20 garden chairs (more seating is available at an additional charge)
  • A clothed table and two chairs for the signing of the registry

We have four “zones” where weddings can be held. We can only allow a second wedding in the same zone if there is at least two hours difference between their start times.

The average garden wedding ceremony will take about 20 to 25 minutes, so we suggest that you plan 30 minutes total for your ceremony. Generally, the garden wedding will commence 2.5 hours prior to the reception. This will allow you two hours for the photographer – which should be plenty.

The bride and groom are free to arrive however they wish. We can accommodate arrivals by horse and carriage, on the backs of Harley Trikes (we have even had arrival by helicopter).

After your ceremony, feel free to use our gardens as the backdrop for some lovely wedding photos. As mentioned above, we suggest you allow two hours for taking photos – unless you are planning photos at another off-site location , which will require additional time for travelling to and from.
